Today's state of mind: 6 Things Every Happy Woman Should Have

Recently I read an article on the 8 essentials that every woman should have. While this 'oh-so-intellectual article' was a Thought Catalog post, it still got me thinking about myself and who I am. Sure, the same 8 things will most definitely change in five or even two years down the road but for now....this is who I am. (correction: this is what i should have posted two months ago...it's been in my draft pile all this time, corrections are in purple) (correction: it's actually 6 things, I got lazy sorry)

1. A Go to Drink
There's 1 month left before I turn 21 so I still have a while before I can establish my go to drink, I mean I have a whole lifetime to find it starting in a month. But what I can tell you is that vodka is a no go for me. I like to think I'm a whiskey/bourbon person.
Correction: It has been about 17 days since I have turned 21, and I have done some considerable damage to my liver. Thanks to my college buddies who gifted me a bottle of Jack (honey), I have slowly been adding to my collection of alcohol. In addition to my Jack, I have a bottle of vermouth, angostura bitters, an un-corked bottle of brut champagne, and 2 missing bottles of my 6 pack Cornonita at home.

2. A Go to Karaoke song
Hmmm let me think about this one.....Don't Stop Me Now by Queen. Hands down. Done.
Correction: I am obsessed x1000000 with Jake Bugg. And I am unashamed to say that I know every single song of his on & off record (meaning I have spent countless hours watching youtube videos of him performing and interviewing...it's the most I have ever spent on youtube).

3. A uniform
For an average weathered day...meaning the typical SoCal sun: Black ankle cuffed jeans, 3/4" sleeved T-shirt preferably in an extra soft cotton, sandals. For the glorious winter days: boots, jeans, comfy shirt and a sweater or peacoat/parka
Correction: For the past month, I have basically been living in my yoga pants. once again, i am not ashamed. the best yoga pants are from american eagle (the performance kind)....i don't have the money for a pair of lululemons

4. A Hair style
I wish I had more waves but with the right styling (freshly washed hair, lightly blow dried, curl enhancing creme gel, hair pulled up into an easy bun with a clip not a hair elastic for 10 min), I think I can kind of get the messy beachy waves that I love!
Correction: I have an unhealthy addiction to showers. Not only does it make me feel refreshed, it's my way of waking myself up during those terrible all-nighters, taking a break from autocad, rhino, illustrator...etc, and most importantly awfully shower singing to Jake Bugg with the best $100 i have ever spent...my beloved Jambox.

5. An exercise routine
I do NOT do this nearly enough as I should. But during the summer and on the days that I am home from college I love hiking on the many ocean trails in my hometown
No correction for this one......oops. Although I did run two miles a few days ago and am still recovering from muscle aches.

6. A hobby
This is a toughy. I've always been jealous of that person who always had that one activity that has stuck with them since childhood. For me, it's really hard. But being in college has really help me define what I enjoy doing and that's finding a unique restaurant, obscure coffeeshop
Correction: Listening to Jake Bugg, and consuming myself with all things Jake Bugg. I love Jake Bugg.
