Global warming calls for kick-ass sunsets

I may not be a huge fan of Southern California, and I sure am not a big advocate of environmental science and global warming. But these sunsets mixed with the hyper-humidity as of lately, do allow for some killer twilight views. On another note, totally loving this mood board from The Life Styled Blog. Daily Necessities | June Gloom

Unlike most Southern Californians, I love June gloom. As a lover of the rain and sweater weather, June gloom gives me the last chance to cling onto the teeny bits of that same fall/winter drear while still enjoying the few days of 80 degree weather sprinkled throughout the month. Because of this, I can still wear boots without looking like a misplaced soul one day, while the next day don my cap and sunnies by the pool.

Here is a round up of my daily necessities for the beginning weeks of summer:
1. I fell in love with the Chelsea style boot which has been all the craze in the UK. After a lot of searching for a decently priced pair (they can be quite, quite expensive), I found these bad boys on fat sale at asos.com...unfortunately they aren't on sale anymore...but still very worth the price
2. This cap has seen better days, I use it for morning runs, weekend hikes, and when lounging by the pool. Maybe it's time to get a new one but I love the leather strap and grungy style. You can find similar ones at jcrew.com where I got mine a years or so ago.
3. What would I do without my absolute necessities??? This includes my Kate Spade wallet gifted from my mom, my sunnies, my phone, and my favorite favorite favorite lip color/balm/chapstick. I swear by Maybelline Baby Lips Electro #07 Pink Shock, it's an addiction.
4. Summer= sandalsandalsandalsss. Love this pair I bought a few months back, they're sooo comfy and go with anything.

A little drunk on you, and high on summertime

One of my greatest guilty pleasures is doing absolutely nothing, having no agenda, no work, no homework, nada. It feels so nice to have such a drastic change from the crunch of finals and endless studio projects, but I feel just a guilty and restless from having no pressing matters looming before me. The first couple weeks of my summer has been extremely relaxing, so laid back to the point where I think my body freaked out and left me with a stupendous flu. Yep, I've been terribly sick for the past week and because of this I am ashamed to say I have not been out of the house for three days...how gross is that?
But while I have been trapped at home, listening to RY X's Berlin on repeat, occasionally jamming my sinus congested head off to my beloved Arctic Monkeys (of course prepping myself for the epic concert in August), and netflixing to my heart's content, I have rounded up a few of my latest summer obsessions.

a new state of mind

it took me quite a while (a year to be exact) to find a desktop background that was worthy of changing my beloved NYC skyline. i came across this print on one of the blogs that i follow and it immediately caught my eye. i am most definitely NOT a beach person but this is so refreshing. a hint at the new things coming this summer

restless state of mind

promising promises. so i definitely did not follow through on this daily blog blogging. what's my excuse? that school has kicked my butt. simple as that. there's approximately a month of school left and i am dying...DYING I SAY! for summer to start so that i can get out of this mess i take for granted.

headache.
