(cheers to good whiskey, summer sunsets, and die mannschaft!)
The world cup is coming to a close at a blitzkrieg speed (no pun intended after
this jaw-dropping game today). After Sunday, life will go back to normal after a month of non stop futbol action. Four years ago, I fell in love with the Spain national team after watching the entirety of the group rounds in Europe while traveling with my dad and brother in France and the UK. There's so much more spirit and passion in Europe than in the US but after an amazing performance by the US men's nation team this world cup, there definitely has been a wider interest group this time around. I do hope this surge of interest and national pride will continue four years down the road in 2018! After, Spain's embarrassing defeat in the group rounds this year, I'm rooting for my second favorite team, Germany. The Spain and German (and Argentinian) teams combined have probably
the best looking soccer players in the world!
(My favorites are Neuer, Hummels, Ozil, Lavezzi, & of course humble Messi!)
This Sunday, I'll be watching the finals at the
Hammer Museum where there's a 35 foot HD screen that will live broadcast Germany vs........Argentina?
ole ole ole!
